If a Cabin could talk
Did you or someone you know have that event where the Log Cabins played a special part?
If so we need your stories, photos and support.
The Burke Park Log Cabin Committee of Bethel are asking for your stories about what part the cabins played in your lives.
The Cabins originally were relocated proudly in Burke Park as a Nations Bicentennial celebration project in 1976.
The cabins although in recent years have sat dormant with no Maintenance, were used as back drops to festivals, family activities and many educational field trips for the students of the surrounding area for many years.
Village Council has given their support on this project.
The BPLCC committee long range plans have been to maintain the present site of both cabins and to begin renovations and operations of both cabins.
Ron Shouse Committee Chairman said, the overwhelming support for this project has been refreshing. This is truly beginning to be a special community project.
One that we all will be proud of once completed.`
Committee is presently in conversation with the Parks committee and both organization has committed their cooperation.
The village has a wonderful past with many notable citizens that have shaped our county and State.
